Bethel Music artist, songwriter and worship leader Noah Paul Harrison releases his new single, “The Lifter Of My Head (Live)” featuring Aubree Archibeck. Available now on all streaming platforms, the track offers the latest preview of his upcoming solo debut album, DO NOT GO GENTLE, releasing Aug. 28.
“The Lifter Of My Head (Live)” is a heartfelt expression of surrender and quiet trust, choosing to wait on God even when it might not make sense. It reminds listeners that through every season, God’s timing and ways are always good. The song will be featured on the upcoming 8-track collection alongside previously released singles “Christ That We Lift Higher (Live),” “He Wasted Nothing (Live),” and “My Honor To Need You (Live).”
Says Harrison, “Of all the songs on the project, ‘Lifter Of My Head’ took the longest to finish. In some ways, that’s really cool because every season of my life that I spent working on it added a different meaning and depth to the song. Many years ago in Redding, I wrote the beginning of the verse: ‘I wait for You like the watchman waits on the morning light, like a newborn locked to its mother’s side.’ I sat on that verse for a long time until my wife helped me explore more of the concept of dependence on the Lord, and I continued to chip away at the lyrics. Then, about a year ago, I took the song to some friends in Dallas, and we finally completed it. My hope is that this song encourages people to trust in the Lord and wait on Him – not by ignoring the challenges and hardships of life, but by actively leaning on Him through them.”
DO NOT GO GENTLE offers an honest look at the life of faith – marked by both miracles and disappointment, hope, and heartbreak. Several of the songs were written in Noah and his wife Carling’s apartment, making this album deeply connected to their life, family, and journey during some of life’s most challenging seasons. It tells a story of learning to trust God through the valleys and hold tightly to His promises when the way forward isn’t clear.
